OPEN PATIOS IN DUPONT CIRCLE

Restaurants & Patios have started opening up all across DC thanks to the city entering Phase 2 of reopening. While we’re still a long way from the “new normal”, I can personally say that I am elated that restaurants are slowly reopening and have taken advantage of this a couple times.

The Dupont Circle neighborhood is so full of restaurants that you could easily just take a walk around and find a place to dine al fresco, but I wanted to put together a list of some of my favorites. Click on the restaurant names to get more details.

Floriana

Floriana is one of my restaurants in DC. Located within an old home, this Italian restaurant offers a perfect variety of pasta and meat dishes. They also have half-priced wine bottles every Wednesday and Sunday.

Hank’s Oyster Bar

Hank’s is a DC staple with multiple locations in the district. The Dupont Circle location is a go-to and their patio is always full and lively. Their seafood (especially the Oyster selection) is vast and make sure to check out their specials.

La Tomate

La Tomate’s location is superb. Just north of the circle, it’s food is light and fresh and the perfect date spot. Try out the Cacio e Pepe; you will not be disappointed.

Lauriol Plaza

Lauriol Plaza might be the liveliest spot on this list. It’s always crowded and always fun! They offer fresh Mexican food with large portions and strong margaritas.

Residents Cafe & Bar

Residents is relatively new to the area, but has already made a great impression. The atmosphere is chic and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also known for their curated cocktails, this spot should be on your list of places to try.

Duke’s Grocery

One word: Burger. Duke’s offers a funky and flavorful menu and they are known for their burger. Get there early as their patio is always busy.

Lucky Buns

Speaking of burgers, Lucky Buns probably has the largest variety of burgers in Dupont; multiple types of beef, chicken, and even a veggie option. I highly recommend pairing your burger of choice with an order of chips (they’re actually fries!).

A lot of these places are either reservation only or walk-up only, so make sure to check out their policy. Otherwise, enjoy getting back to normal. Cheers!
