Studies say that most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions by January 17th. If you’re a part of the majority, you may be thinking about starting your resolution back up. If your resolution included getting in shape, losing weight, toning up, or just generally being more active, I have three Dupont Circle workouts to recommend.

SoulCycle

SoulCycle has been a favorite of mine for years and with four locations in DC, it’s a fun and convenient way to jump (or as they say, “tap”) back in to your resolution goals.

The workout is a 45-minute indoor spinning class with loud music and motivating instructors. The instructors add their own choreography to each class, so no one class is alike. But be warned, classes fill up quickly, so make sure to book your bike every Monday right at 12:00 pm for that week.

Rumble

Rumble Boxing is the newest of the three to the neighborhood but may pack the most punch. This boxing / cardio / strength-training class is a 55-minute has quickly amassed a large following with most of their classes selling out.

Each class consists of a brief training session to teach everyone about the six punches (jab, cross, front & back hooks and front & bank uppercuts) which is followed by 10 rounds of various boxing and floor exercises using the punches you learned in the training. If you’re looking for a unique workout, I guarantee Rumble is unlike anything else in Dupont Circle.

Pure Barre

Pure Barre puts your muscles to the test; the instructors actually say that if your body isn’t involuntarily shaking, you’re not doing it right.

The workout is a mix of pilates, yoga and ballet which uses a lot of little movements to strengthen your muscles and increase muscle tone. Pure Barre consistently has full classes, but unlike the other two, they also tend to have a lot of offers and deals for new and existing customers which is a great perk.

The Hepburn (yep!)

Another option is the fitness center at The Hepburn. The facility is gorgeous, clean and has everything you could possibly need for a great workout. In addition to the cardio and weightlifting machines, they have not one, but three Peloton bikes! They also offer group fitness classes (with live instructors) in a separate yoga studio. The live yoga classes are held on Sundays and Mondays and the Strength & Fitness class is every Wednesday. This workout option definitely has the best views. From almost anywhere in the studio you can see the beautiful D.C. skyline including the Washington monument.

Whatever workout you choose, you won’t be disappointed and they will all get you back on track with your New Year’s resolutions.
