So, is anyone actually doing a dry month this year? Or has that been thrown out because of COVID? I actually think taking a month off from alcohol may help you cope with the stress of 2021, but I’m not judging anyone for how they’re getting through these times.

For those that are going to take a little reset, I’ve found these three mocktail recipes for you to try!

Grapefruit and Rosemary Mocktail

This recipe really intrigued me with the fresh herbs. Makes for a fun and fresh twist! Ingredients

Rosemary simple syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary

Mocktail, for 4 glasses:

  • 2 cups fresh pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup of rosemary simple syrup
  • 4 cups sparkling water

To make the rosemary simple syrup, heat up the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Dissolve the sugar and make sure to not let the mixture boil. Once the sugar has dissolved, pour mixture into a heat safe storage container and add the springs of rosemary. Let sit for at least an hour. The syrup will keep for 10 days.

Add 1/2 cup of the fresh pink grapefruit juice to a glass. Then add one tablespoon of the simple syrup and stir. Top of the glass with sparkling water and served chilled.

Chile-Lime Pineapple Soda

This spicy recipe makes enough for 12, but you can drink all 12 and not feel guilty – except for maybe the amount of sugar šŸ˜‰ Here are the ingredients and directions:

  • 1 tbsp pink peppercorns
  • 1 lime, plus wedges for serving
  • 2 dried chiles de Ć”rbol, plus crushed for serving
  • 3 cups fresh pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 9 cups club soda, divided

Start by crushing the peppecorns with a mortar and pestle. Remove the zest from the limes in wide strips with a vegetable peeler. Please in a bowl and add in the peppercorns, chiles, pineapple juice, sugar and salt and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Transfer to a 1 qt. jar and cover and chill for 8-12 hours.

After it has chilled, strain through a fine mesh sieve and you should have about 3 cups remaining. Discard the solids.

Fill a glass with ice and mix 1/4 cup of the juice with 3/4 cup of club soda. Garish with a lime wedge and some of the crushed chiles.

Magic Apple

This recipe gives me all the fall / winter feels. It could easily act as your dessert or paired with a spice cake or apple crumble. I can’t wait to try this one!

Ingredients (for one drink):

  • 2 oz Ritual whiskey alternative
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Apple slice

Combine the first three ingredients in a glass filled with ice. Stir until cold. Pour the mixture over fresh ice and garnish with the cinnamon stick and apple slice.

Cheers!
