Did you know that Dupont Circle has its own BID (Business Improvement District)? The Dupont Circle BID was created in 2018 with the intent to elevate the neighborhood. The team behind this effort is doing this through updating and improving the public spaces, increasing the cleaning services, hosting events, and much more. The BID has even planned out a new plaza with street improvements along Connecticut Avenue.

As mentioned before, the BID will be offering events for the public; some paid, some unpaid. For instance, start this Sunday, February 23rd, and for the next eight Sundays from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, there will be an ArtRave Underground art market hosted by the BID’s partner, Dupont Underground. The market will showcase local artists and designers and is free to the public. Get tickets here.

On Wednesday, February 26th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm there is an Intro to Calligraphy class with Samantha Testa and while this is a paid event, you get instruction, wine, a notebook, greeting card set and more. The event is for all skill levels and you can get your tickets here.

The Dupont Circle BID website also includes a “Visit” section which gives recommendations on where to stay, eat, shop, etc. You might even see some familiar places from my earlier post on my favorite Dupont Circle coffee shops.
